Cannabis Golf, Explained
Cannabis Golf League:
Where Arizona's Industry Does Business
Golf has quietly become the cannabis industry's sharpest networking tool, and Arizona is where it's done best. Here's what a cannabis golf league is, why it works, and how to get on the course.
What Is a Cannabis Golf League?
A cannabis golf league is a recurring golf series built for professionals in the cannabis industry. Instead of a one-off event, a league puts the same curated group of executives on the course again and again, on a set schedule, so relationships compound over a season instead of resetting after a single round.
Leagues and tournaments do different jobs. A tournament is the big stage: hundreds of industry professionals, sponsor activations, awards, one unforgettable day. A league is the long game: smaller rounds, repeat pairings, and the kind of trust that only builds when you see the same people month after month. Arizona has both, and they feed each other.
Why Golf Works So Well for Cannabis Networking
Cannabis is a relationship business. Licenses, capital, supply agreements, retail shelf space: almost everything in this industry moves on trust, and trust is hard to build in a 10-minute conference meeting. Golf fixes that.
- ⛳Time. A round of golf gives you four to six hours with decision-makers. No booth lines, no badge scanning, no elevator pitch on a trade show floor.
- ⛳Curation. At an AGC event, the field is 100% cannabis-executive curated. Every conversation is a relevant one.
- ⛳Neutral ground. Nobody is selling from behind a table. The conversation happens naturally, between shots, over a long afternoon.
- ⛳Repetition. League play means you see the same people monthly. That is how acquaintances become partners.
This is why executive networking events keep coming back to the course. The format does the work for you.
Arizona's Cannabis Golf Scene
Arizona's scene started in December 2021, when MITA-AZ, the Marijuana Industry Trade Association, launched the First Annual MITA Executive Charity Golf Tournament in Scottsdale. That event grew into the Arizona Golf Classic: nine executive tournaments and counting.
Today AGC anchors the scene with its flagship charity tournaments. The Spring 2026 Executive Invitational sold out: course and patio both. Next up is the Winter Executive Classic on Wednesday, December 9, 2026 at Westin Kierland Golf Club in Scottsdale.
Every tournament runs on the GolfTracker.ai platform: live scoring and a real-time leaderboard, GPS yardage from any golfer's phone, and hole sponsors' logos displayed in-app as players reach their hole. It plays like a tour event, because that is the standard this crowd expects.
The Standing Tee Time: AGC's Members-Only League
The Cannabis Executive Golf League is AGC's members-only curated league, currently forming: monthly play, a members-only field, and a season built to go deeper than any single tournament day.
The tournaments are where you meet the industry. The league is where you become part of it. Format, membership details, and the interest form live on the league page.
Learn About the League →Who Plays
The field is 100% cannabis-executive curated: CEOs, founders, operators, owners, and investors, from Arizona and national markets. No filler foursomes, no random walk-ups. If someone is on the course, they are worth knowing.
And because every AGC tournament is a charity event, the day gives back to the community while the industry does business. See the faces from past events in the gallery, or read the full origin story on the about page.
