# Why We Play: 5 Valley Veteran Charities
This is not just an executive golf tournament. On May 19, every dollar we raise goes directly to five Arizona veteran organizations working to support those who served.
The Arizona Golf Classic has always been about more than golf. For 2026, we are doubling down on that mission by partnering with five Valley veteran charities — a coordinated effort spearheaded by Valor Veterans Community AZ under the leadership of Executive Director RO Gonzalez.
Each of these organizations approaches veteran support from a different angle: community connection, mental wellness, physical recovery, family healing, and the quiet healing that comes from getting outdoors with people who understand. Together, they cover the full spectrum of what our veterans need to thrive after the uniform comes off.
Here is who we are raising money for in 2026 — and how each is making a difference across Arizona.

## Valor Veterans Community AZ
Valor Veterans Community AZ exists to connect veterans to their community and the resources they need to thrive. Founded and led by Executive Director RO Gonzalez — a veteran who knows firsthand how difficult the transition home can be — VVCAZ builds camaraderie through local events, volunteer activities, and resource fairs that help veterans access employment, education, and the support systems often hardest to find on their own.
As our lead charity partner for 2026, Valor is helping shape every aspect of how AGC shows up for the veteran community this year.

## Merging Vets and Players
MVP empowers military veterans and former professional athletes to thrive when the uniform comes off. Their structured peer-support programs combine fitness, health, and wellness training — built around the truth that warriors of all kinds share the same struggles when they leave the team, the unit, or the field behind.
For veterans facing the void after service, MVP rebuilds the camaraderie they miss most.

## Warriors Code Inc.
Warriors Code embraces those who have been through tough times — including veterans navigating the after-effects of service — and helps them holistically rebuild, restore, and live their best lives. Programs are organized around four pillars: _culture, movement, training, and recovery_, with services that include warrior enrollment programs, educational support, and therapeutic resources designed to help clients rebuild family relationships and reclaim their lives.
It is about giving veterans the tools to come back stronger, on their own terms.

## Wildcat Ranch Phoenix
Wildcat Ranch is a veteran-owned, family-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the heart of Phoenix — a true haven for healing through horses. Partnering with organizations like Balanced Beings, the ranch offers equine-assisted therapy and outdoor recreational experiences for veterans, first responders, children, and anyone seeking calm in a connection with nature.
For veterans carrying invisible weight, the quiet of a horse stall often does what nothing else can.

## Fairways for Warriors
Since 2010, Fairways for Warriors has been healing the unseen wounds of combat — providing _hope, healing, and camaraderie_ for combat-wounded veterans and their families through the game of golf. They understand what AGC understands: the course is one of the few places where a veteran can get four uninterrupted hours of fresh air, real conversation, and friendly competition with people who get it.
It is a partnership that just fits.

## Veterans Village at Kierland
On tournament day, AGC is creating a dedicated Veterans Village on the property — a central gathering point where all five of these organizations will have a presence. Meet the founders, learn about each mission, and see firsthand how the funds we raise translate into real impact.
